Sharp Solutions, Inc has an immediate need for a QA Tester (Senior) for the Senior Community Service Employment Program SCSEP client on a highly- visible and strategic Task Order for the Department of Labor. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to work within a team to stand up and mature the capabilities of our customer.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Interact with solutions architect, business analyst and tech lead to define and build a test strategy, performance goals, test plan, for reputable web application performance testing within the organization
  • In addition to testing for each Sprint Cycle and in preparation for the Production Releases, the QA Tester shall coordinate and perform the following test activities:
    • Manual/Automation Testing
    • Smoke Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • System Integration Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) – Facilitate and Assist
    • Performance/Load Testing
    • Section 508 Compliance Testing
    • Develop test scenarios/cases for use during UAT
    • Schedule UAT kickoff sessions (up to 3 UATs sessions per release)
    • Provide user support during UAT
  • The QA Tester shall actively participate in all required sprint meetings, walkthroughs, Internal team syncs and demo meetings following agile/scrum methodology and assisting team members with understanding and resolving functional, non-functional and 508 compliance issues on modernization of a legacy application
  • The QA Tester shall analyze business requirements document, user stories from backlogs for writing manual test scripts of a web-based application in low code BPM platform.
  • The QA Tester shall upload test cases and test results, log bug tickets, map user stories to test cases, provide traceability to the requirements, create test suites, and selectively run manual testing.
  • The QA Tester shall provide test scripts and data to conduct sprint reviews and UAT with stakeholders.
  • The QA Tester shall document the test results and then upload the results to the project repository (e.g., DOL SharePoint).
  • The QA Tester shall modify regression test code to resolve errors found during UAT to ensure the system is ready for production deployment. All changes shall be documented in the DOL OCIO’s change control/configuration management tools.
  • Note: Automated testing processes shall be used whenever possible.
  • The QA Tester will follow and have experience with Agile Sprint Cycles (unless otherwise directed by the FedPM)
  • The QA Tester shall conduct bi-weekly sprint reviews that consist of the following:
  • Presentations (in PowerPoint) and demonstrations (if applicable) of what has been ‘done’ during the sprint cycle, along with the number of points/velocity. The definition of ‘done’ will be defined during Sprint and follow-on Sprints by the FedPM or Product Owner.
  • Lessons learned (i.e., sprint retrospective) from the sprint shall be part of the sprint review presentation.
  • Plans for the next sprint cycle per feedback from the PM shall be part of the sprint review presentation.
  • Draft versions of (living) documentation (e.g., Design Specification, Requirements, Test Plan, Test Summary Report and Test Results, Weekly/Monthly Functional, Section-508 reports
  • Plan, implement, and facilitate Sprint User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions to allow users to test the functionalities/features of the user stories that were developed during the Sprint cycles.

Preferred Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of proficiency in design, development and analysis in load tests using a variety of load testing tools, including GIT, JMeter, Putty, WinSCP, Groovy, Selenium Web Driver, Selenium Grid, Cucumber and FitNesse.
  • Expertise in creating test scripts with Selenium WebDriver using different locating techniques to interact, run, record, and conclude test results using testing framework on different browsers such as IE, Firefox, Chrome
  • Experienced in automation testing in designing Page Object model (POM) using Selenium WebDriver with Java to perform functional and regression testing
  • Proficiency in writing and executing performance test scripts using JMeter with WinSCP and Putty on virtual machine
  • Hands-on experience in creating Voluntary product accessibility templates (VPAT)/ACRT for section-508 testing using DHS TTV5 and assistive tools such as ANDI, CCA, JAWS, NVDA by following WCAG 2.0 guidelines with compatible browsers
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and ability to work independently with little or no direction
  • Expert knowledge in using various test methodologies and best practices in conducting various application tests, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end system testing of client/server and web-based software applications
  • Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming concepts and Java skills
  • Experience working in PAAS, SaaS environments for testing in AWS cloud
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Case Management Systems using Appian
  • Experience using agile methodology, including Scrum/Kanban ceremonies, roles, rules and artifacts in software development
