Sharp Solutions, Inc has an urgent need for a talented and experience Sr. Software Developer to join our growing team. This position will be located in the DC Metro area. The right individual will enjoy the designing and development of the core upgrades, regulatory changes and other customer requests for the ColdFusion platform all to help the Department of Labor and the Enterprise Business Support Systems to meet its customers' requirements.
The senior developer will maintain and design and develop the core upgrades, regulatory changes and other customer requests for the ColdFusion platform. Working closely with Product Owner, and IT Federal Project Manager (FPM) to fully understand the functional and technical requirements of changes requested of the EBSS systems. Actively participate and provide inputs in the major design decisions. Work with Business Analysts, SME’s, system owners, customers and end-users to understand their mission, current architecture, security requirements and deliverables. With a focus on the project release goals, work with the team to build solutions that will scale to meet the evolving needs. Design and develop the system to set the standard for future development, craft an architecture that smoothly works with existing infrastructure without compromising security. Identify and introduce new opportunities to build platform-based solutions to help the users meet their toughest challenges.
• B.S. in Computer Science, Math or Engineering; Masters preferred
• 5+ years of experience with software development, including building ColdFusion applications, along with Oracle database experience.
• Gather requirements, designing and mapping the same to the Business processes
• Understands fundamental web development concepts
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and timely follow through
- Experience supporting cloud technologies
- Previous consulting experience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of associated Agile tools
- Experience working in a government client environment is strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience managing evolving customer requirements.
- Department of Labor Entry on Duty (EOD) is required to support this program
